Powerful TikTok tips for businesses

Not even Facebook managed to buy it

Rumors have surfaced more than once that Facebook might be preparing behind the scenes to acquire TikTok, after the latter pulled far ahead of the other social media platforms in recent years. Yet it seems Facebook didn't manage to swallow up its rival either: the video platform is still racing ahead, and TikTok's solutions keep echoing back among Meta's features, for example Reels videos on the Instagram platform. If even Zuckerberg sees this much potential in it, it would be worth your while to try out what the app can do too!

Why should your business be on TikTok?

Although TikTok is popular among Gen Z (those born after 1995), the number of older-generation users is growing too. It's not an opportunity worth missing if you want to make your brand and products known as widely as possible. If you haven't yet thought about starting to advertise on TikTok, now is the time, since the platform's growth is still going strong.
On top of that, the app is free, and it's not rocket science to use, so why wouldn't you?

How to create your first TikTok ad

If you want to show up on TikTok not just as a content creator but also want to make ads, you can get started easily with these first few steps:
To begin, go to the top of the screen in the app and choose the "Ads" option in the menu bar. From there, select the "New ad campaign" option. Next, a screen appears where you can provide details about the ad campaign. What we definitely recommend is setting the budget and the ad type:

Budget: This is the amount of money you want to spend on running the given campaign. We recommend starting small, so you can try out the different types of ads without risking too much at once!

Ad type: Three kinds of ads are available on TikTok: video ads, audio ads and CTA buttons (CTAs are buttons that, when clicked, take people somewhere else). For now, focus only on creating a basic video ad with text captions!

Of course, powerful ads also require good video content, so above all it's worth starting with creating that. Once you're happy with the content you've made and with the ad campaign settings, it's time to hit publish!
After that, all that's left to do is watch the campaign's results, whether directly on the dashboard or by exporting the data into Google Sheets or Excel, and respond to users' needs.

Summary

If you're looking for new ways to connect with the Gen Z and millennial audience, it's worth considering using the TikTok app. The app has grown exponentially in recent years, and today it boasts more than 500 million users worldwide. TikTok isn't just about marketing products: you can use this platform to connect with your audience on a more personal level, or even to create content together with them. Keep in mind that people who use TikTok don't like content riddled with manipulation tactics, so make sure your videos are always entertaining and authentic!
