TikTok is an increasingly popular social media app, especially among young people. The platform has been dubbed “the new Snapchat”, and it’s easy to see why. TikTok allows users to make short videos to music, which they can then share with friends and family. It already has more than 800 million users worldwide – and was launched in 2017 alone.
Facebook failed to buy it either
There have been several rumours that Facebook may be in the background of a takeover of TikTok, after the latter has been a distant second to other social media platforms in recent years. However, it seems that Facebook has not managed to take on its competitor, the video site is still going strong, and the Meta features include TikTok’s solutions – such as Reels videos on the Instagram interface. If Zuckerberg sees such potential, you should try it out for yourself!
Why should your business be on TikTok?
Although TikTok is popular among Generation Z (those born after 1995), there is a growing number of older generation users. It’s an opportunity not to be missed if you want to get your brand and products known as widely as possible. If you haven’t thought about advertising on TikTok, now is the time, as the platform is still growing.
Plus, the app is free, and it’s not a devil to use – so why not?
How to create your first TikTok ad?
If you want to get started on TikTok not only as a content creator, but also as an advertiser, you can get started easily by following these first few steps:
To get started, go to the top of the screen in the app and select “Ads” from the menu bar. From here, select “New ad campaign”. You will then see a screen where you can enter details about your advertising campaign. What we recommend is to set the budget and the type of advertisement:
Budget: this is the amount of money you want to spend to run the campaign. We recommend starting small so you can try different types of ads without risking too much at once!
Type of ad: three types of ads are available on TikTok: video ads, voice ads and CTA buttons (CTAs are buttons that take people to other places when clicked). For now, just focus on creating a basic video ad with subtitles!
Of course, good video content is also essential for powerful ads, so it’s a good place to start. If you’re happy with the content you’ve created and the settings for your ad campaign, it’s time to publish!
Then all you have to do is monitor the results of the campaign, either directly in the dashboard or by exporting data to Google Spreadsheets or Excel and respond to users’ needs.
If you’re looking for new ways to connect with Generation Z and millennial audiences, consider using the TikTok app. The app has grown exponentially in recent years and now boasts more than 500 million users worldwide. TikTok isn’t just about marketing your products – you can use this platform to connect with your audience on a more personal level, or even co-create content with them. Remember that people who use TikTok don’t like content full of manipulation techniques, so keep your videos entertaining and authentic!
